I’m always excited by the prospect of collaborating with Rachel Swirsky. Her stories are layered, often sexual and populated with interesting, nuanced characters. It was a challenge to depict the complex relationship at the core of this story. And fun to play off of a visual archetype. Thank you as always to Irene Gallo, for being open to an image like this and giving me the opportunity to create something for Rachel.

Detail. Acrylic and watercolour, finished digitally. With apologies to Francesco and Gustav.
